REPRESENTATIVE, VESSEL OPERATIONS (12 Month Contract)

The Representative, Vessel Operations is responsible for ensuring effective operations for all vessels and terminals across our Canadian ports. While strictly adhering to vessel and terminal cut-offs, the Vessel Operations Representative creates and provides highly accurate reporting and schedules to various stakeholders both inside and outside the Agency. The Representative, Vessel Operations is responsible for providing an excellent customer experience for clients, vendors and colleagues alike in every written and verbal communication, internally and externally.

Key Tasks
- Act as a liaison between MSC Agency and terminal
- Ensure required adjustments to vessel and rail planning based on what is actually brought to terminal
- Produce various reports and schedules for internal and external users
- Perform daily cleaning of vessel for rail and terminal
- Carry out Comparative Reports (comparison of physical count at terminal with what is in MSC Link)
- Communicate with Customer Service to verify missing VGM’s
- Request from equipment Department list of empty containers for repositioning and send to planners with OBL (list of full containers)
- Create, merge, edit and send OBL (list of full containers) to terminal planners (with manager approval)
- Reconcile any discrepancies between terminal load list and MSC Link
- Dealing with customs and other industry related third parties (agents, planners, depots)
- Create vessel maximum report (snapshot of all Canadian vessels on bookings vs. capacity)
- Create coastal schedule for partner carriers showing cut-offs on MSC vessels
- Compile rail status report indicating containers sitting at rail and units waiting to go on rail
- Create projection report for partner carriers notifying of # of boxes scheduled on MSC vessels
- Export Manual Rail Billing
- Providing full support to other MSC Canada departments which are inquiring for any assistance related to West Coast Vessel Export Ops.
- Process IMO (HAZ cargoes) bookings as per MSC procedure in timely manner;
- Send MVC to customers in case significant change of vessel schedule or port rotation (as per Corporate Ops approval);
- Setting up the routings in the MSC LINK as per Bookers requests in timely manner
- Coordinate any vessel schedule change to amend ERD and Cut Off dates;
- Setting up Late Gates as per customer requests.
- Providing Empty Evacuation plan to terminals as per MSC Equipment figures and to Vessel Planners
- Negotiate and follow up the charges applicable for any containers movement, status change, booking amendment (etc) as per terminal contract agreement.
