Job Overview
Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled New Relic Administrator with 4–8 years of experience to manage observability across large-scale, complex application and infrastructure environments. The role includes optimizing monitoring configurations, automating agent deployments, troubleshooting issues, and integrating New Relic with platforms like ServiceNow. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience across technologies like BRM, EKS, AEM, Commerce, databases, and a strong background in monitoring strategy and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
Core Responsibilities:
- Configure and manage New Relic agents across applications and infrastructure (e.g., BRM, EKS, AEM, Commerce, databases).
- Streamline alert policies, thresholds, and dashboards to improve visibility and reduce alert fatigue.
- Automate agent deployment and configuration using tools like Ansible, Terraform, or CI/CD pipelines.
- Troubleshoot agent-level and telemetry issues across various platforms.
- Integrate New Relic with ServiceNow, Slack, and other ITSM and collaboration tools.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define monitoring requirements and ensure observability coverage.
- Lead or mentor a small team of New Relic admins or engineers.
Advanced Responsibilities:
- Design and implement observability architecture and governance for large-scale environments.
- Use NRQL and custom instrumentation (APIs, SDKs, OpenTelemetry) to create advanced dashboards and business-critical monitors.
- Implement synthetic monitoring and anomaly detection for proactive incident management.
- Enforce security best practices, RBAC, and API key management in New Relic.
- Continuously improve monitoring processes and evaluate new features for enterprise adoption.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 4–8 years of hands-on New Relic administration experience.
- Proven experience with agent deployment, dashboarding, and alert configuration.
- Strong knowledge of application and infrastructure monitoring across cloud and on-prem environments.
- Proficiency in NRQL, scripting (Shell/Python/PowerShell), and automation tools (Ansible, Terraform).
- Experience with ServiceNow integration and observability in CI/CD pipelines.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex monitoring issues and lead technical conversations.
