The Senior Business Analyst is responsible for translating complex business needs into clear, actionable data requirements that support enterprise reporting and the enhancement of our strategic data platform. Working within a cross‑functional agile environment, the role engages closely with stakeholders across the organisation to capture and refine requirements, validate data outputs, support testing, and ensure the delivery of accurate, high‑value data products.
Operating as part of a Continuous Delivery team, the Senior Business Analyst helps solve business challenges through data‑driven solutions by understanding business processes and mapping them to data and application capabilities. Strong stakeholder engagement, facilitation, and analytical skills are essential, alongside experience in requirements gathering, backlog refinement, and collaboration with technical and business teams. Experience in financial services is required, with a strong preference for candidates with Life Insurance expertise.
In this role you will:
- Conduct analysis of existing business processes, data sources, and applications to support data product delivery
- Elicit, document, and refine data requirements, transforming them into clear and actionable user stories
- Facilitate backlog refinement and feature elaboration sessions to ensure shared understanding across the team
- Lead data requirements walkthroughs with stakeholders to ensure alignment and traceability
- Work with Subject Matter Experts, Technical BAs, Developers, and Testers to define and validate acceptance criteria for all data stories
- Collaborate with UX and visualisation teams on report/dashboard designs and wireframes
- Review proposed data solutions to identify gaps or misalignments with business requirements
- Support development and testing phases by providing clarification and guidance on data logic, business rules, and expected outcomes
