Duty Driver

Reporting to the Engineer, responsibilities and essential job functions of Duty Drvers include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Turns plant to set air and hydraulic pressure and amperage according to specified type of metal, weld, and assembly.
• May select, install and adjust electrodes.
• Aligns work pieces, using square and rule.
• May inspect finished work.
• May operate plant equipped with two or more electrodes which weld at several points simultaneously.
• Important variations include types of joints welded (seem, spot, butt) and types of materials welded (aluminum. Steel).
• Cleans and maintains work pieces and welding plant, using hand tools and equipment’s.
• Perform other related work as required by chief engineering, chief welder, and welder.
• Perform work with established safety standards.
